How to Use this web site.
When not logged in, there will be only a limited number of option in the menu on the left hand side of the screen.
- Home takes you always back to the main page;
- General Information takes you the pages with the publicly available information about our club: who are the Board members and other Officers of the Club; the projects we are running; the Centennial Scholarship Trust and more...
- Links gives you access to other web sites related to Rotary, like the District 9670 web site, Rotary Down Under and Rotary International.
- Program gives you an overview of what is happening in the club in the weeks to come: speakers and other activities.
- Picture Gallery takes you to our photo album on line with pictures of various events. Usually the most recent event rates a seperate link in the menu.
- Latest News from RI gives you a "news feed" of the 10 latest new articles on the website of Rotary International.
- Bulletins gives access to the collection of bulletins on line for the current year These bulletins are in "web site" format and can be printed (see "printing");
- Old Bulletins brings you to the archive of buletins from the previous Rotary years. The format of these bulletins is PDF, so you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader for that.
- About this site gives some techincal background information about this web site.
- Help - that is what you are reading now!
Sometimes - when we have special project or special event scheduled - there may be a Pay or Donate button in the main menu. This gives access to a page where you can pay on line for tickets for events or make a donation to our club and/or our project using PayPal secured credit card payments.
On the right hand side of the screen you will notice various information panels. Some - like the program details - are visible to all visitors. Some sections only become visible when you have registered and are logged in. A good example is the panel with birthdays and anniversaries: only for members!
The powerful Search (and Advanced Search ) option let you enter words or names and will show you where to find items on the web site that are related to the "search" you did.
At the top right hand side of the main panel you will notice three icons: . Clicking on these buttons will activate separate windows. The first button (PDF) enables you to download the article you are viewing in Adobe Acrobat PDF format (so far without the pictures but we are working on that!). The second button gives access to a window with the page content in printable format. When you have your printer connected you will be able to easily print what you are seeing. The third icon makes it possible to send the content-link per email to yourself or someone that may be interested in reading it.
Members of the Club and other registered users (as such accepted by the board) have also access to the Members Section of this web site. To log in, enter the username and password you received per email from the webmaster or which you entered when you registered.
The Members Section of the menu gives you the following options:
- Members details will bring up a list of all the members and their home phone numbers. When you click on the members name you will get all further available information, like address, e-mail (when published), other (mobile) phone numbers, classification and more. Members are welcome to supply a "mug shot" to the web master for pubication with their details.
- Change Password let you change your password. When you loose your password, please contact the webmaster.
- Your Payments will take you to a screen where you can see what payments (like club subs) are due and what you have paid already. Payments can securely be made by credit card with our PayPal facility. There is an additional charge on credit card payments to compensate for the fees that the club has to pay for this facility.
- Attendance is where you can enter an apology on line (or a make up when you attended elsewhere). The responsible club officer will check the entries weekly to report the right number of attendees tot the Bowling Club. There is a cut off time for apologies on line on the day of the meeting!
- View Members Duties is where there is an overview available (usually for the next 4 weeks) of the various members tasks during the meeting ("door" duty, welcoming guests and more).
The Admin Menu is only accessible for the webmaster and some Officers of the Club that do maintenance on the web site and that have to enter or retrieve information (attendance, payments).
Comments.
In some sections of the website comments are invited from the members - like in the Clubservice catagory where we discuss the new club structure. Feel free to add your comments that will be posted on the web site. To prevent spammers from using this facility the user has to add the code from the "distorted" numbers in the security panel. Please remember that sometimes "continental" sevens are shown (with a cross bar).
